A rematch or re-boxing (Japanese: 再戦 rematch) is a 2nd or subsequent battle against a Trainer or Pokémon.

In the cadre series games, information technology is mandatory for the player to defeat certain Trainers to advance inside the game. Gym Leaders

Gym Leader rematches were first introduced in Pokémon Emerald. They are featured in all subsequent cadre series games with Gym Leaders, except for Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, Black, White, Omega Cherry, and Alpha Sapphire.

In Pokémon Trading Card Game and Pokémon Menu GB2: Here Comes Team GR!, all duelists are available for rematches. Even so, in some cases, a duelist switches their deck permanently at some point.
